For nearly two decades, Justin has valued or analyzed over a thousand transactions related to mergers, acquisitions, earnouts, recapitalizations, equity conversions, transfers of ownership, shareholder buyouts, minority equity interests, intellectual property, intangible assets, profit sharing interests, options, warrants, and restricted stock.
Prior to Titus Alliance, Justin was a principal and practice leader at the 33rd largest accounting firm in the U.S. (Elliott Davis), leading the firm-wide transfer pricing practice. He has valuation experience at public accounting firms including Grant Thornton and a Big 4 (Deloitte & EY) financial advisory practice.
In 2022, Justin was elected to The Appraisal Foundation's Business Valuation Resource Panel and re-elected, serving as Vice Chair (2025) and Chair (2026). He was recognized as the M&A "Service Professional of the Year" in 2021 and 2022 by The M&A Advisor and identified as "40 Under Forty" by NACVA. Justin is also a chapter author of The Appraisal Foundation's book Art of Valuation.
Justin's personal story starts in Seoul, South Korea. As a young child, he was adopted by an American couple living in Upstate New York. As his adoptive parents searched for an infant, further research showed that the youngest child shared multiple older siblings living in Korean foster care and who needed a home.
Over 36 months, eight children (all under the age of six) were adopted from three separate families in Korea. According to newspaper articles at the time, the Boyd family would go on to be the largest single-family naturalization in United States history. Several years later, Boyd's adopted mother passed away; his adopted father was now a single parent to eight adopted children.
The experience forever changed the way Boyd would choose to contribute, work, and make an impact professionally. He started working at a young age; he pursued unique educational opportunities; he achieved unprecedented professional success early in his career; and he is now a rising leader in global M&A. The work has been important to Boyd; but the core values that anchor the work mean more.
Three values that define not just who Titus Alliance is, but how we show up for every client, every time.
Titus will always be honest, authentic, and transparent. The journey is hard, and the last thing you need to worry about as a business owner is a smoke screen or a show. You deserve straight answers.
Both buy-side and sell-side transactions require precision and fine attention to detail. That can get challenging and complicated. Regardless, Titus is committed to keeping it simple and managing the entire lifecycle of your transaction.
We come to you. Simple, complicated, messy, confusing. We're in this with you. Every client's situation is unique, and our job is to bring clarity and confidence to wherever you are in your journey.
Let's talk about what we can accomplish together.
